Barbara Hanning
I am Barbara Taylor McHenry Hanning born in southern Ohio and raised in Zanesville, The only daughter of seven children, I attended grade schools and Hancock Jr. High as well as Lash High school.
While attending high school I had the honor of having some of my pencil and charcoal drawings displayed at the Zanesville Art Institute which received honorable mentions and blue ribbons for which I was quite proud.
After High school I married and raised my family, five daughters and a son. In 1998 I retired from K-Mart Corp. after twenty two years of service I decided to get back into the arts.
Being a self taught artist I watched and listened and practiced and started in again. I like to paint on anything, glass, slate, tile, wood, saws, metal, but most of all I do the wet-on-wet on canvas. I like to dabble in all mediums and I will try to paint anything at least once.
I have had some paintings hanging in some offices at the Longaburger Co. and participated in several Arts and Crafts Shows in and around our community including Salt Fork and have sold some of my work on E-Bay. I am a member of ZAAP and the Artist Colony of Zanesville. I hope you all enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoy painting them...
